The Agritec Centre peels back the layers of a world-class research farm, allowing you to explore and understand an entire farm system and its environmental footprint. Learn about the science, technologies and complex land and animal management systems that exist on a modern dairy farm.

Resources and courses suitable for secondary, tertiary and industry students are offered here, and farmers will also find courses that improve their understanding of new agricultural technologies and systems. A range of online and on farm learning is available – we will deliver courses across New Zealand, and we can host learners directly on farm in our purpose built learning centre.

The Agritec Centre at Tokanui

The Tokanui Dairy Research Farm, owned and operated by AgResearch, is a modern dairy conversion which currently milks a herd of approximately 800 cows on 300+ hectares.

Tokanui operates on a commercially valid model, but also conducts R&D into:

• Environmental management
• Productivity gains
• Differentiated milks

Its goal is to create the dairy farm of the future – and Wintec’s Agritec Centre is located at the heart of this farm to teach tomorrow's farmers, scientists and industry professionals.
